A Journey Complete: Fantasy Jazz Cruise 2026
Fantasy Jazz Cruise 2026 Sets Sail
From May 09 - 11, Jazz Music Norway, in proud collaboration with Color Line Cruises, set the stage for yet another unforgettable musical voyage with the second edition of Fantasy Jazz Cruise 2026. Departing from Oslo and sailing to Kiel, Germany through the scenic Nordic waters, this unique experience brought together world-class musicians, jazz lovers, and the timeless magic of live music, all aboard a floating venue unlike any other.
This year’s Jazz Cruise 2026 brought together world-class artists, unforgettable performances, and hundreds of jazz lovers for a spectacular celebration at sea.
At the heart of the cruise was the Norwegian Jazz Orchestra, led by Felix Peikli, presenting a series of grand themed productions in the Show Lounge that paid tribute to some of the most iconic voices in jazz history. Each evening offered audiences a unique musical journey, including:
“The Music of Nina Simone” A powerful and soulful celebration of one of jazz’s most influential voices, featuring the outstanding Sisi Sumbundu alongside the Norwegian Jazz Orchestra.
“The Music of Frank Sinatra” Swinging classics and timeless elegance came alive with the charismatic Frikk Heide-Steen joining the orchestra in tribute to Ol’ Blue Eyes.
“The Music of Billie Holiday” An intimate and emotional homage to Lady Day, starring acclaimed vocalist Tricia Boutté (USA) with the Norwegian Jazz Orchestra.
“The Grand Finale” A dazzling closing concert bringing together Sisi Sumbundu, Frikk Heide-Steen, and Tricia Boutté in a joyful celebration of jazz, soul, and swing alongside the full orchestra.
Beyond the headline concerts, jazz could be heard throughout the ship from afternoon until late into the evening. In the Observation Lounge, guests gathered for “Afternoon Jazz” featuring the Nikolai Hansli Trio with special guest Zakarias Øverli, creating the perfect soundtrack for relaxing days at sea.
Meanwhile, the Donkey Bar transformed nightly into a vibrant jazz club atmosphere as the Ola Erlien Trio presented “The Music of Django Reinhardt,” delighting audiences with fiery gypsy jazz, virtuosic guitar playing, and infectious energy.
The Jazz Cruise 2026 was more than a concert series, it was a floating celebration of music, community, and the timeless spirit of jazz. We are deeply grateful to all our guests, artists, and partners who made this year’s edition so special, and we are already looking ahead to the next unforgettable voyage.
Stay tuned and prepare to sail with us once again on the Jazz Cruise!
