A Swinging Success at Sea

Jazz Cruise 2025 Sets Sail

From May 10–12, Jazz Music Norway, in proud collaboration with Color Line Cruises, set the stage for an unforgettable musical voyage with the inaugural edition of Jazz Cruise 2025. Departing from Oslo and sailing to Kiel, Germany through the scenic Nordic waters, this unique experience brought together world-class musicians, jazz lovers, and the timeless magic of live music—all aboard a floating venue unlike any other.

At the heart of the cruise was the Norwegian Jazz Orchestra, led by Felix Peikli and Thor-Erik Fjellvang, who guided hundreds of guests on a rich and vibrant journey through jazz history and its icons. Each night featured spectacular themed performances, including:

“Remembering Ray Charles” – A soul-stirring tribute brought to life by the incredible Knut Anders Sørum.

“Frank Sinatra 110” – Celebrating Ol’ Blue Eyes’ 110th birthday with charisma and class, led by the fantastic entertainer Heine Totland.

“The Music of Nina Simone” and “The Music of Ella Fitzgerald” – Two unforgettable showcases honoring legendary voices, both featuring the brilliant Sisi Sumbundu.

Beyond the headliner concerts, the ship came alive with jazz at every corner. Guests danced and cheered during our authentic New Orleans-style second line parade, weaving through the promenade with live brass and second line dancers. Intimate sets in the Observation Lounge featured the Nikolai Hansli Trio with guest artist Zakarias Øverli, adding a cozy club atmosphere to the high seas.

The inaugural Jazz Cruise was more than a concert series—it was a celebration of community, culture, and the enduring spirit of jazz. We’re incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support and enthusiasm from our audiences and partners, and we’re already charting the course for the next edition.

Stay tuned, and get ready to sail again with us on the Jazz Cruise!
